The Book Report Network, an online company with eight editorial websites including Bookreporter.com --- and a thriving website design/development and Internet marketing business with more than 100 author clients --- is located in New York City. We’re currently looking to fill the following positions:

Editorial Web Designer - Part-time

Editorial Web Designer - Part-time
Description: The Book Report Network, an online company with eight editorial websites including Bookreporter.com --- and a thriving website design/development and Internet marketing business with more than 100 author clients --- is located in New York City. We have a small, fast-paced office with a dedicated, creative and hard-working staff.

We are looking for a part-time web designer who is proactive, web-savvy, and detail oriented with strong interpersonal skills to create feature art, ads and graphics to enhance our editorial properties. Applicants should have experience in the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver, and should have the ability to hand code HTML and CSS efficiently. This position has the potential to become full-time.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the ad/promo and editorial teams to design art to enhance features for all editorial websites
  • Design house and client ads (banner, skyscraper, multi-frame)
  • Create concepts for small art pieces for marketing/ad campaigns
  • Able to work both independently to meet aggressive deadlines, and collaboratively in a team-based production environment

Skills:

  • 2-3 years experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver
  • Able to hand code HTML and CSS efficiently
  • Must be highly innovative, organized, motivated and possess strong design and computer skills
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills

In addition, the ideal candidate will:

  • Be able to interface with Editorial and Ad/Promo teams for tightly deadlined projects
  • Have a passion for artwork and incorporating it on the web
  • Be able to quickly shift priorities and work on multiple projects at the same time

Location: New York, NY

Five hours a day; five days a week. This is an in-office position. Candidate must be available to work in the office.
