Drupal Developer - Freelance
Description: We are looking for a Drupal developer to work with our AuthorsOnTheWeb division on a freelance basis. Looking for candidates with the ability to create standards-compliant code that tightly adheres to original design specifications. The ideal candidate would be local to New York City and ready to take on a project immediately.
Responsibilities:
- Work with a team of programmers and designers to create dynamic, content-driven websites, video portals, rich media and other interactive products
- Create standards compliant XHTML from Photoshop templates
- Develop standards-compliant code that holds up cross-platform and cross-browser
- Understand and adhere to CSS driven development standards
- Conduct thorough QC on applications before releasing to management for review
- Able to work both independently to meet aggressive deadlines, and collaboratively in a team-based production environment
- 5+ years of production HTML/CSS experience
- Expert knowledge of CSS development, and cross browser issues
- Expert knowledge of Drupal, including custom theme development, custom module development, profiles, views, and default overrides
- Expert Knowledge of Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP, and SSH
- Knowledge of JQuery, AJAX, and ASP knowledge are highly beneficial
- Knowledge of Javascript, Action Script, & Flash are a plus
- Experience with Rackspace Hosting and/or Plesk a plus
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills In addition, the ideal candidate will be:
- Able to interface with Graphic Designers for design specifications
- Able to quickly shift priorities and work on multiple projects at the same time

Looking for candidates with the ability to create standards-compliant code that tightly adheres to original design specifications. The ideal candidate would be local to New York City and would work in-office. We are looking to fill this position in January 2010.

Editorial Intern (unpaid)
Requirements: The Book Report Network is looking for an intern who will assist the Editorial department in a number of projects. Responsibilities will include writing various features for the company’s editorial websites, compiling information about books being published in the months ahead, posting TBRN’s reviews on Amazon.com, monitoring website traffic as well as filing and other administrative tasks. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are a must, and interest in the book publishing industry is a plus.

Design Intern (unpaid)
Requirements: The Book Report Network is looking for an intern who will assist the Website Design + Development department with in-house and client websites. We are looking for recent graduates or current undergraduate students who are proactive and detail oriented with strong interpersonal skills. The candidate will have experience in the the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and Illustrator, and should have a basic knowledge of the following: HTML, CSS, and Dreamweaver. Working knowledge of Flash, Action Script, and Javascript are a plus.
